How I learned to communicate my inner life with Asperger's Report

Report on Autism Spectrum Disorder

Alix Generous has lived with Autism Spectrum Disorder her whole life. From the lack of social skills to the hypersensitivity of textures to 25 therapists trying to figure out what is going on inside Alix’s head, this woman has overcome a lot in her life so she can pursue her dreams and give her 100 percent to the world. She starts out describing what it is like to live with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The topic is Living with Asperger’s Syndrome. She argues that people with this high functioning form of Autism, lack social skills but can do amazing things with their mind and talents in certain areas.

She has lacked the use of visuals and props, and as she stood in one place she seemed to make many humorous statements and remarks. The path through the presentation was hard to figure out, she didn’t seem to have a clear path throughout the presentation.

Despite the unclear path, lack of pacing, and lack of visuals and props; she was very engaging and inspiring. I feel that this presentation would bring hope to those who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I would recommend anyone who knows someone with Autism Spectrum Disorder to watch this video for a better understanding of what they go through.

Position on Facebook Privacy

My stance on Facebook selling people’s information to Cambridge Analytica was unjust and not fair
to the users of Facebook. However, most Facebook users don’t seem to really care or feel affected by
it.
The only people who feel affected by it and care about that information being sold, are the ones who
are in the IT field or know about privacy in the social media platforms.

All in all, I feel Facebook should really think hard and improve the privacy standards provided to its users.
What are your thoughts on this matter?

Why I am at MATC?

I chose to attend Milwaukee Area Technical College, not just to earn a degree. No, more so that I can gain the skills for earning my degree in IT-Web and Software Development. I have a deep passion for computer programming and anything else related to the topic of computers. I know the programming languages C#, Visual Basic, and Java. I am currently in the process of learning the scripting languages of SQL, HTML, and JavaScript. I am learning these scripting languages in classes I have been taking while attending Milwaukee Area Technical College.

Going to Milwaukee Area Technical College has all been a journey for me. So far I have attended one semester prior to my current semester. I attended the Spring 2017 semester which wasn't what I would say the best semester ever. During what would be the Fall 2017 semester, I decided to take a semester off. During that semester off, I dedicated my time to improving myself and sharpening my skills as a Software Developer. I have also finished building my own PC prior to the start of Spring 2018 semester. It took me 3 years to gather all the parts I have needed due to financial hardship. Then, alas, my PC has finally been completed after those long years. After all I been through during Fall 2017, I have now returned to Milwaukee Area Technical College to pick up from what I have started on.

As far as work experience goes, I haven't had much success in finding a job in my field. Considering that I am still young, my experience comes from schooling. My experience goes as far back as my freshman year of High School. I took all the programming classes you could take at Oak Creek High School. However, the real journey starts with Milwaukee Area Technical College and I will continue to push forward in my experience.

The reason why I chose IT-Web and Software Development is because, as I mentioned earlier, I have that deep passion, that deep love, for computers. Despite have love for everything about computers, I wanted to focus more on the Software Development rather than Web Development or anything else on in the IT world. I solely chose Software Development because I wanted to create applications and software. By using the programming languages I have learned, it feels as if I could create anything. Those are really the main reasons why I chose the program I chose.

My goal this semester is to study hard and further better my skills as a Software Developer. To achieve my goal of study harder, I plan on finding different study tactics to learn all I can about computers, and to develop my skills as to be successful in my schooling. Which goes into my next goal, further bettering my skills as a Software Developer. I want to be coding, researching, and learning about every detail of Software Development.

What do I plan for the future after school is finished? I am quite skeptical on what exactly I want to be doing career-wise. Some of my ideas for career options and interests are perhaps applying for Google, Microsoft, or any other careers within that realm of careers. What is it that I should do within those companies, you may ask? I am still trying to figure that out, but I would probably be placed in the field of programming for clients. I think that would be a great option for me, yet still I would have to think upon it.

All in all, this is my dream and what I want to do with my life. I hope to achieve my dream to become a successful Software Developer. I strive to be the best at what I do. With the schooling I am pursuing, with the activities I am doing, and with the skills I am learning, I will achieve my dreams!

Yours Truly,
